AGNES JEPPSSON is a screenwriter, creator and script consultant. Currently, Agnes is developing her own drama series at a major Swedish production company, as creator and head writer together with two colleagues. She is also in two writers' rooms as script consultant at Swedish companies, both in development for major broadcasters/streamers. One is a thriller drama series and the other one is a genre series, something that Agnes enjoys working with. She has developed a horror feature film and is developing a sci-fi feature based on a short film which she wrote. Apart from that, Agnes is also developing a drama feature film where her passion for character and relationships and how to make them nuanced is in focus.
Her expertise and interest in dramaturgy was advanced during her time as a Script editor at SVT Drama, where she worked for 2,5 years. The work includes reading a vast number of projects and feedbacking directly to the creator, something that has given her a good sense of communication and balancing power, artistry and dramatic structure. This, combined with studying Journalism and TV Production, has given her a strong sense of shaping stories with important themes, whilst at the same time being entertaining and reaching a wide audience.
Agnes holds a BA in Screenwriting at the Stockholm University of the Arts in 2021. Her graduation short film “Tjejtoan 4-ever” premiered at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in 2022 and was shortlisted for Guldbaggen/Swedish Academy Awards. The film is a rollercoaster of emotions told through a multi-character-story, without losing the sense of structure and theme. One of Agnes’ strengths as a writer is exactly this, the ability to combine pain and laughter in the same scene.
