VERONICA PALM

VERONICA PALM debuted as a writer in 2018 with the partially autobiographical SISTERHOOD: A FEMINIST IDEA BOOK. The book bred an appetite for writing and Veronica embarked on a new adventure, writing fiction. In 2021, NOT ALL MEN, the first part of her suspense series about Emilia Berg, was published. This was followed by the second instalment, HIGH PRICE, in 2022, and the third, WITH YOUR LIFE AT STAKE, in 2023.

Veronica’s crime novels have been praised as tightly-plotted page-turners. Readers follow the memorable politician and parliamentarian Emilia Berg as she is forced to deal with a variety of crimes alongside her career and life as a divorced mother of two. The Emilia Berg-series also provide a unique window into political life behind the scenes.

After a distinguished life in the absolute center of politics, including serving as a Member of Parliament, Veronica left her political duties in 2015. Today she devotes herself entirely to writing, mainly books, but also as a recurring columnist for several newspapers.

Her upcoming book The Olive Grove Confession marks Veronica Palm's first foray into the feel-good genre, yet offers something uniquely compelling. What distinguishes her first novel in her new feel-good series is Palm's remarkable ability to weave warm, feel-good charm with an emotionally gripping mystery. Drawing from her extensive background in politics and suspense writing.

"The Olive Grove Confession" is the first installment in Veronica Palm's Solköping series. A thoughtful and delightfully escapist feel-good series. Ulrika's life seems perfectly in order: her job is stable, her days in the family villa with Johan and their nearly grown children feel secure, Friday dinners are a comforting ritual, and weekend garden cleanup is always on schedule. But when Johan announces he wants a divorce and her boss breaks the news of restructuring and layoffs, Ulrika's carefully constructed world crumbles. Suddenly alone, unemployed, approaching fifty, and carrying the extra weight of menopause around her middle, Ulrika struggles to find her identity.

In the midst of this crisis, her colleague Maggan—with fiery red hair and vibrant caftans—sweeps in and takes charge. Before she knows it, Ulrika finds herself in a charming stone house in Italy, surrounded by olive and lemon trees. But what secrets are Maggan and the hospitable Ricardo keeping from her?

"The Olive Grove Confession" is a heartfelt tale about confronting yourself in middle age and daring to ask what you truly want from life. Escape to Tuscany on a journey filled with exquisite culinary experiences, unexpected love, and the rediscovery of friendship!

Book 3 in the ‘Emilia Berg’-series

It has been an eventful term for the culture committee's chairman Emilia Berg, but now the Riksdag's summer break is finally at the door. It is almost time for the annual politicians' week in Visby and Almedalen, and in the autumn the election campaign will begin. Most of all, Emilia longs for holidays with her children. Then the incredible happens. A bomb threat that puts an end to the spring's very last vote in the Riksdag turns out to be the beginning of a deadly conspiracy with ramifications high up in one of the governing parties. A conspiracy on the absolute right wants to carry out a bloody and violent attack during Almedal Week. Emilia's name, along with other top female politicians, is at the top of the conspirators' death list. The days in Almedalen are an invisible countdown to the terrible thing that is about to happen. Emilia's personal connection to one of the conspirators leads her into the heart of the conspiracy. In the end, she is the only one who can stop the terrorist act, with her own life at stake.
