THOMAS JACKSON has directed several of the most acclaimed documentary films coming out of Sweden in the last few years.
His latest film “Historjá - Stitches for Sápmi“depicts the indigenous Sámi peoples' fight for its culture in the face of climate change. These struggles are portrayed through the eyes of world-renowned artist Britta Marakatt-Labba and the film picked up both international and domestic prizes.
The internationally successful “Foodies - The Culinary Jetset” let us glimpse into the life of five of the world's leading food bloggers, travelling around the globe in search for the most extreme culinary experiences.
In “Kartellen - Lys Upp Skuggorna” Thomas follows the turmoil of Sweden’s biggest gangster rap group as their lead rapper tries to find a way to reconcile his newly found Christian faith with the group's violent and chaotic lifestyle.
The genre-bending and visually striking “Sök Och Du Skall Finna” deals with the human ability to create new worlds through our imagination, and ends up questioning the boundaries between the outer and our inner worlds.
His films have screened at festivals such as Berlin International Film Festival, Toronto Hot Docs, CPH:DOX and Tokyo Film Festival.
Thomas Jackson has also worked with several of the biggest television formats in Sweden, such as “Kobra” and “Jill’s Veranda”.
Thomas is currently developing a drama tv-series and two feature films.
