Screenwriter, author and illustrator Emma Hamberg debuted as a screenwriter in 2007 with the feature “Linas Kvällsbok/Bitter Sweetheart”based on her popular books with the same name published by Albert Bonnier’s. The feature follows fifteen year old Lina who struggles with the exiting and uncomfortable feeling of stepping into the teenage world filled with expectations. Emma wrote the script together with Erik Ahrnbom and the young adult dramady won the Honorable Mention at Lübeck Nordic Film Days and was shown at prestigious Film Festivals around the world.
Emma co-created and wrote the storyline to all episodes of the popular dramady-series “Sommaren 85/Summer 85” that premiered on SVT 2020. The story is inspired by Emma’s own upbringing in a small Swedish town and follows the loving, turbulent and complicated relationship between mothers and daughters.
Emma has written numerous of books, notably her latest feel-good novel “Je m’appelle Agneta” published in 2021. The novel quickly wandered up the top-lists with great reviews and over 100 000 sold copies. Currently, “Je m’appelle Agneta” is under development as a feature adaptation at SF Studios.
Emma is known for her great ability to create a magnetic universe for her audience, often filled with love, sex, friendships and unfiltered emotions.
