Gabriel Creuz was once a successful lawyer and the son of a baron. But when he is framed for embezzling millions at his firm, he loses everything – his job, his fiancée, his reputation.

After spending four years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, Gabriel finds his old life shattered. His friends and family have abandoned him, and his assets are gone. When his ex-girlfriend Nadia offers him an illegal job, he can’t refuse. She wants him to frame an innocent man so her company can buy his business for a cheap price. If Gabriel succeeds, he’ll regain his financial stability as well as gain the resources to uncover who framed him years ago.

However, as Gabriel launches his investigation, unknown forces threaten and attack him. Someone doesn’t want him digging around at the firm, but he refuses to back down and soon stumbles upon secrets and conspiracies that go far beyond what he could ever have imagined. Is the need for revenge worth putting his life at risk? If only there was someone Gabriel could turn to for help – but he doesn’t know who to trust.

SMOKE WITHOUT FIRE is a high-octane suspense novel about an innocent man’s mission to clear his name. Full of dark humour, surprising plot turns and intrigues that get the adrenaline pumping, Dan Buthler has written a suspense novel that will stay with its readers long after the last page.
