Daniel Di Grado is a director and screenwriter working across film, television, and theatre in both Sweden and the United States. He made his American debut with the horror film ORACLE for Universal Pictures. In Sweden, Daniel has collaborated with all major networks and many of the country’s leading production companies, achieving significant success.
He is particularly drawn to character-driven stories, bringing them to life through meticulously composed visuals and compelling storytelling. Known as an “actor’s director,” Daniel works closely with talent, offering both freedom and guidance to help them deliver their best performances. He is a firm believer in the collaborative nature of filmmaking, encouraging his colleagues to push boundaries in pursuit of the heart of each project.
While he often works within genres that lean toward the fantastical, Daniel has experience across a wide spectrum of genres. Born in Stockholm, he began his career as an assistant director in the 1990s and transitioned to directing in the early 2000s. A passionate cinephile since childhood, his taste ranges from mainstream blockbusters and B-movies to art house films—with a particular love for stories steeped in the terrifying and macabre.
In addition to his work in film, television, and theatre, Daniel has also directed numerous music videos and commercials.
