TORFINNUR JÁKUPSSON is a Faroese screenwriter, showrunner and executive producer, based in the Faroe Islands, Copenhagen and London. Torfinnur is the creator and head writer of the first ever Faroese TV drama series, crime drama TROM, available on Viaplay, DR, ZDF/Arte, BBC, AMC+ and SBS among others.
Torfinnur has a diverse background in journalism, film, television, and music. He is also CEO of the newly founded GRÓ Studios, the first film and television studio of its kind in the Faroes, focused on developing local talent and local stories for a global audience.
After working in "the City" in London, Torfinnur decided to change industry from the world of news and finance to film and TV. Over the past decade, he has refined his skills in a wide range of roles – spanning feature films, shorts, documentaries, series and music videos. His projects, including his work as a writer, producer, editor and sound designer, have won numerous international awards and nominations.
