ARTUR BAGHERI

Artur Bagheri (b.1998) is a screenwriter, author and poet who has worked in several journalistic areas, including SVT and Radio P3, until he decided to follow his lifelong dream – writing.

Whether it dwells into drama or comedy, Artur loves to portray marginalized communities, diaspora and its people since these portrayals have historically not been three-dimensional enough. Not necessarily that they should be flawless, but rather, that they should be raw and real. This is something he feels has always been missing from mainstream representation.

In 2019, after studying journalism in Phoenix, Arizona he started working at SVT as researcher and editor for several cultural and societal programs (eg. PSL, Kulturnyheterna, SVT Opinion, Radio P3/Munck Studios).

He also helped with the writing for the hiphop-forum Dopest. 2021 Artur worked as an editor for the Number 1-podcast "Sex & Fördom" (Acast/A&F Production) as well as working as a writing-mentor for "Spotify SoundUp".

In 2022, Artur was selected to be featured at the AKT UNG poetry performance where he got to read at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm during the International Poetry Festival. In 2023, Artur won first place of the prestigious Tensta Konsthalls Textpris and he was interviewed and featured in 20:tal’s literary magazine’s eigth number.

Currently, Artur has co-created and written the hit coming-of-age-series Haffa (for SVT), which was nominated for a Kristallen award in 2024.

Artur is also working on a debut novel as well as a poetry collection. In addition, he is studying screenwriting at Alma.
