HÉDI FRIED

 
 

Born in 1924 in Sighet, Romania, HÉDI FRIED survived both Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen before arriving in Stockholm in 1945 with the help of the Red Cross. She studied and worked as a psychologist for many years. After her debut in 1992 with the bestselling autobiography THE ROAD TO AUSCHWITZ: FRAGMENTS OF A LIFE, she started lecturing and sharing her personal memories of the Holocaust.

In her book QUESTIONS I AM ASKED ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST (2017), she addresses questions she has been asked during her thirty years of lecturing.

Hédi Fried passed away in November 2022, at an age of 98 years.
