AMANDA HÖGBERG (b.1990 in Gagnef, Dalarna) is an exciting screenwriter with a unique voice and a recipient of an Oscar for best student film “Get Ready With Me” (2018). This SADA (STDH) graduation film is a psychological thriller with a humorous touch and unexpected ending, and is a great example of Amanda's strengths as a screenwriter.
Amanda has a background in the performing arts, as an actress, dancer and a choreographer. Her wide-ranging interests touch on everything from writing coming-of-age stories to mystery-horror. She is drawn to American indie films, and is especially skilled in character-driven dramas with dark, witty humour. One of her strengths is finding a unique perspective in any given story and from that place creating characters and plots that feel fresh and original without losing believability.
Amanda has written episodes for director Lisa Langseth’s beloved original series “Kärlek och anarki / Love and Anarchy” for Netflix as well as been the head writer for “Vuxna människor” for TV4 together with Daniel Karlsson. Amanda is currently developing an original dramaseries for SVT with Ebba Stymne.
