ARTUR BAGHERI

Artur Bagheri (b.1998) is a screenwriter, author and poet who has worked in several journalistic areas, including SVT and Radio P3, until he decided to follow his lifelong dream – writing.

Whether it dwells into drama or comedy, Artur loves to portray marginalized communities, diaspora and its people since these portrayals have historically not been three-dimensional enough. Not necessarily that they should be flawless, but rather, that they should be raw and real. This is something he feels has always been missing from mainstream representation.

In 2019, after studying journalism in Phoenix, Arizona he started working at SVT as researcher and editor for several cultural and societal programs (eg. PSL, Kulturnyheterna, SVT Opinion, Radio P3/Munck Studios).

He also helped with the writing for the hiphop-forum Dopest. 2021 Artur worked as an editor for the Number 1-podcast "Sex & Fördom" (Acast/A&F Production) as well as working as a writing-mentor for "Spotify SoundUp".

In 2022, Artur was selected to be featured at the AKT UNG poetry performance where he got to read at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm during the International Poetry Festival. In 2023, Artur won first place of the prestigious Tensta Konsthalls Textpris and he was interviewed and featured in 20:tal’s literary magazine’s eigth number.

Currently, Artur has co-created and written the hit coming-of-age-series Haffa (for SVT), which was nominated for a Kristallen award in 2024.

Artur graduated highly regarded Alma Screenwriting Program in 2025.

His debut poetry collection “Notes of the Prince” is published by 20tal. He is currently working on his fictional debut.

Artur Bagheri’s debut Notes of the Prince contains contemporary love poetry and post-orientalist reflections set to the sounds of trap. The lyrical self is framed as a “party prince,” offering himbo takes on geopolitics. It’s a poem about beauty, heritage, and the unconventional diaspora — an inner and outer journey that takes him from both sides of Stockholm’s city limits to New York.

REVIEWS

“It is irony and sincerity in a blissful blend… In a peculiar way, Bagheri manages to encapsulate the spirit of an era of extreme self-awareness, where life seems to unfold in many places at once, across different media, and within different people’s perceptions of you.” Dagens Nyheter

“The narrator is at times self-pitying, at times self-critical, but always self-aware. He is aware of his heritage, aware that he stands at the bottom of the pyramid, aware of the privileges he nevertheless possesses. With great skill, the narrative portrays how the narrator tries to come to terms with this knowledge.” BTJ
